Legalisation SurveysLegalisation surveys are undertaken on behalf of government departments, territorial authorities, ad hoc authorities or any person authorised by statute to deal with, or dispose of land. Legalisation surveys are most often undertaken to stop, or acquire land for, legal road. Middleton Williams & Co. has undertaken legalisation surveys for Transit New Zealand and a number of territorial authorities throughout the Canterbury region. These surveys have included the re-alignment of State Highways and local authority roads, road stopping and disposal and the taking of land for road.
